There is very nice GIANT SIZE Lisk Roaster on Ebay for $9.99. The Lisk Roaster is the roaster suggested by Chambers for use in their oven. Item#6245481438

A lot of us must spend as much time crawling around on ebay as we do on this site!!

I just saw this same auction a few hours before Ha-asfan posted it here! I don't even know why I was looking at roasters; I don't cook meat at home, and haven't for YEARS.

I guess I'm just slightly obsessed with Chambers stuff.

The going price seems to hover around $12-$15. The "self basting" comes from the convex interior roof....the accumulated moisture rains down upon the fowl or meat and thus "bastes" automatically. There is a vent, some models have two vents and with the vent, you can control the browning. It's pretty neat, I have this giant size and you could easily get a 25lb turkey to comfortable fit. And, since it is the what Chambers suggested be used, seems we should all have one...you too Chipper ! How about a big veggie roast or some stuffed cabbage ?

I think I'll leave the veggie roast to my vegetarian parents, but the stuffed cabbage now - YUM! Of course, I've never considered basting stuffed cabbage before...

I actually entertained the idea of cooking a turkey after I started looking at the roasters, just because it would give me an excuse to buy one. I could hardly believe myself!

Then, Ha-asfan, I looked around my teeny tiny house and decided that having a roaster hanging around would be collecting.

That's not the MONSTER roaster - it's the next one down. LISK made several sizes:

    * Small = big enough for one chicken
    * Medium = Big enough for two chickens
    * Large = Big enough for a 15-18 pound turkey
    * Extra-Large (MONSTER) = Big enough for a 35-lb turkey or 40 pounds of ribs

The MONSTER "LISK" roaster is approximately 20"across (not including the handles). I have two of these, plus at least one of the others, and you can get a 25-lb. turkey in them, but not any of the others.

ALSO - be SURE you get one that has ALL THREE parts: Top, bottom, AND inner tray! Lots of them I see are missing the tray...

WOW, I just read a vintage as for the Lisk Roasters...there were six sizes ! The smallest one was 14.5"L x 9.75"W x 6.75" H and the largest was 21.75"L x 14.75"W x 10.5"H. Prices ranged from $2.40 to $4.75....ebay prices seem very reasonable today !

I'm dying for a lisk roster now that I know how great they are. I could really smack myself in the head because I passed up a complete set in brand new condition, still with the label on, samll to extra large size at a tag sale last year! It's Killing me. We'll now I'm on the hunt for roasters and chambers pots!

Yeah, that was a one time deal, but I know I'll find lisk rosters along the way. The best tag sales to find all the old stuff is when they head their ad with "Cleaning out Grandma's Home".
There a couple of them this weekend. I figure it this way whatever I see lisk or chambers I'm buying no matter what. There will always be someone on the board that can use it.
